Last year, I did the same drive (only departing from San Antonio versus Dallas) in order to be there for the birth. I was able to go out a month early and stay for a couple weeks after she was born. Lots of people would dread this drive. I actually look forward to it! I'm one of those rare people that love LONG road trips, ESPECIALLY by myself. I like to enjoy the scenery along the way and stop whenever the mood hits to take pictures and sightsee. Because I am leaving from a little further north this time, I will be stopping in a couple new places on the way. I can't wait to explore them and share my experiences with you here.
In the meantime, I thought it might be nice to go back down memory lane with a few photos JUST from the drive last summer. I went the beginning of July and driving across the desert (alone) WAS a little bit scary. However, I am not one of those people that lets a little fear keep me from doing something I love. I've actually just about conquered my fear of bridges by driving over them as often as possible.
