3. Friendly Factor
4. Stunning Scenery
If you add them up and want to make a Math equation out of it, let's call it CFS squared. C x 2 (convenience and cost), F x 2 (friendly factor), and S x 2 (Stunning Scenery) = CFS squared. I hate Math but I love making themes, numbers, and new names up! So, I guess I am trying to turn something I do NOT like---Math---into something I do like! Thats kind of how I go through life. There are things we encounter or must do that are not fun or easy for us. We need to spend time on them and FIND A WAY to make them not only endurable but ENJOYABLE! Thats my deep thought for today and a segue into this feature.
1. CONVENIENCE: Once we got off the ship, we simply walked into the Cruise Terminal and found the Information Desk. There is a huge desk for local information and Tours facing you once you are in. Just to the right of it, there is a desk with a sign for the TOURS given by a local Volunteer Group. You can't get any more convenient than that! I proceeded to ask the lovely lady about signing up. She gave me the information on the 3 tours available and I picked one, put our names at the top of the list, and sat down to use the free wifi to check into social media!
"But I can't afford to go anywhere. I'm broke. I have NO discretionary income."
I am here to break the Myths of Travel and show you that, not only CAN YOU travel without paying a pretty price, but you can actually SEE THE BEST there is without opening your wallet! Case in point: Our Tour in Greenock. Totally FREE!!! Now, when you visit a Free Attraction, there is usually a place where you can leave a donation to help offset the cost of the tour. This was a Tour on a Coach so a Driver, Bus, Gas, and Time were all needed to show us around. Please always budget a few dollars to try and GIVE as a donation. These people are giving you something because of their kindness and pride of their home. You should say Thank You in a tangible way. If you simply cannot afford to even give a buck or two, at the VERY LEAST, tell them THANK YOU!!! Then tell a friend or a stranger about your wonderful experience so they may enjoy it too! Maybe they can spot you and give a donation when they visit! Just pay it forward if you can't pay it today :-)
There are NO strangers in life. We are all family. Some of us just haven't met yet! We are just waiting for the Family Reunion and that magical moment when we will connect face to face.
Nowhere have I felt more at home than when I stepped on the ground in Scotland! I know I have some Irish roots but I also think I must have some Scottish in me. I just really felt connected to this place and her people. My husband also felt like Scotland was his favorite of all the places we went on this cruise. He fell in love with Greenock right along with me. They certainly take the cake when it comes to the FRIENDLY FACTOR!
The next time you are thinking about taking a trip and end up talking yourself out of it because of money or time or WHATEVER, remember my Fantastic Four Experience and just create your own! If you need a little help, shoot me an email or comment in the place below and I will give you some ideas for your own excursion. Happy and SNAPPY Travels dear friends!
