After parking the car, I realized we had about a half hour before our tour started. Guess what that means???
You got it! Another Photo Shoot. This time we had PROPS!! If there's something Megan likes more than posing for pics, it would be posing for pics with props.
Finally it was time to get on the bus and take our tour of King Ranch. An older gentleman told us to follow him and we climbed aboard. His name is Milton. He is 83. And he is our bus driver AND tour guide! I can't begin to tell you how happy this makes me. I LOVE Senior Citizens. Especially those that are still very active in life. They inspire me and make my heart happy. There were 7 of us on the tour and we were the youngest. My heart was seriously soaring and so was Megan's. She has a love for the older generation as well. I broke the ice by asking to take a picture of everyone and we were strangers no more:
The scenery on the tour was absolutely beautiful. We had a gorgeous day with white clouds and a blue sky. It was over 100 degrees and we were so thankful for our air conditioned ride through the massive property. Here is a little glimpse of what we enjoyed:
If you want to learn a little more about Kingsville in general, you can also visit Kingsville Texas. It is certainly a destination worth going to all by itself. Because they are only about an hour from Corpus Christi, its also a great side trip when you are headed to or from the coast. I purposely planned our trip here on the last day of our vacation. After 3 days at the beach, wrapping up our Texas Road Trip with a little country just seemed right. The town of Kingsville and especially King Ranch did not disappoint. We had a Magical and Marvelous time!
I paid for our tours and our lodging myself and received no incentives from the establishments mentioned. Opinions expressed on my site are ALWAYS my own and completely honest.
