You will never have ENOUGH money and you can always make the time ENOUGH.
Do you sense a pattern here? Just in case you missed it, it is enough. That word, that time, that THING we never have ENOUGH of. If we wait until we have enough money, we will never go on that dream trip. If we wait until we have enough time, too much will have passed and the dream will have expired. We need to make the most of our time and make our dreams come true with what resources we DO have. To celebrate this idea, I am going to be doing a multiple feature segment called "Just a Day in..........". I will highlight places that I have only had 24 hours or less to enjoy. I can pack a whole lot of sightseeing into 1 day and actually love those opportunities. It requires planning, flexibility, and lots of advance research. The anticipation of this DAY is as rewarding as a full week long vacation.
For my first segment, I am taking you with me on my last Road Trip from San Antonio to San Diego. I have driven this route a few times but for this particular trip I decided to mix it up just a little bit. I stopped to visit my daughter in Dallas before I left so I took a different route and headed to Albuquerque. I was able to get a cheap room at a hostel there for 2 nights and knew I wanted to spend one day in Santa Fe. I had never been to these 2 cities and I felt they were both worth the slight detour. For my full day in Santa Fe, I opted to take the train from Albuquerque instead of driving. I LOVE trains and I was going to be doing enough driving on this trip so I was looking forward to just sitting back and relaxing (and maybe even closing my eyes for a minute or two). Through my research, I found the Rail Runner Express and it was only $10 for an all day pass ($9 if purchased online). I pay more than that just to park my car for a few hours in downtown San Antonio! I knew I wanted to maximize my day so I headed out before sunrise and parked half a block away for only $3. Then I headed to the train station and waited on the platform with the other early BIRDS as the sun came up (Get it? We are like Road Runners waiting for our train to arrive).
You will NEVER have enough time, so
MAKE THE TIME enough!
