|#Joyful Journeyist & the Adventure of her LIFE!||
Welcome to my new Travel Blog. I am really excited to finally start documenting some of the many trips I have taken and the new ones yet to come. Before I start sharing my adventures with you though, I must come clean about something. I'm gonna be honest with you right off the bat. That is who I am, I don't sugarcoat, lie or exaggerate, I tell the truth. This is really hard to say but here goes. I am an addict. Seriously, like FULL blown, I don't want the cure or rehab, A.D.D.I.C.T. I'm actually so obsessed with travel I would have to call it my addiction. Whew, that feels better just telling someone. Anybody out there want to be my sponsor??? If I am not traveling, I must be researching travel. It consumes my mind ALL the time. I honestly feel it is something inside me that I was born with. My Dad was in the Navy and I moved every couple of years my whole life. This would terrify lots of people. I LOVED it. My Mom used to say "we have gypsy in our blood" and that's actually a pretty good description. Because I am very passionate about sharing my love of travel with the world (or anyone who will listen), I am jumping into this world of travel blogging. Some people have a true focus when it comes to writing a blog--maybe a specific group or type of traveler (budget, solo, etc) they may be targeting. I honestly love every kind of travel (with someone, without, camping, 5 star hotel, train, plane, car, ferry....you get the picture). I also feel as though I have a sort of adult onset (maybe menopause induced) ADHD. I like to ramble, AND I like to talk about, research, and experience EVERY kind of travel there is. Whether it is staying in a hostel, on a friends couch, a hotel marketed to business travelers, or a 5 star resort property, it really doesn't matter to me. In my world, it really is all about the journey and not so much the destination. Now, the destination is AWESOME, so don't misunderstand what I am saying. Its just that the trip TO it for me, is just as (and sometimes even MORE) rewarding as the destination itself. This blog should benefit you no matter what type of traveler you are. So, if you like the beach
or the country
you will enjoy my blog. Next to traveling, taking pictures WHILE I travel is my favorite thing to do. My husband always says "What are you going to do with all these pictures you take"? Well, they will now have more of a purpose than just making me happy while snapping them! Unfortunately, all of them won't make it here (I literally can take hundreds of pics in a day). I will sift through them and put the best of the best here for you to enjoy. Needless to say, all of the pictures you will see here are my own. That means I took them myself. Other than a class in HS on photography, I have no professional training. My Dad was a journalist in the Navy. Radio and TV Broadcasting, and writing and photography are also jobs (and passions) he has. I definitely inherited his eye and am forever grateful. So, I feel like I may be starting to ramble a bit and I believe a blog post isn't supposed to be a mini novel (I'm not sure of this though, I am new at this whole blogging thing and will learn and get better with each post). As I post new blogs, I will send out alerts via facebook, twitter, etc so you can read them hot off the press! I am immersing myself COMPLETELY into this digital world of social media outlets to maximize my audience. I mean, if I'm gonna share pertinent information, I need to make sure as many people as possible can get the scoop. I may not use proper verbiage, grammar, spelling (although I always won the spelling bees in school), or punctuation but try and overlook that and see what's really important about what you're reading. I welcome and encourage ALL feedback, whether negative or positive because I feel you are never too old to learn. In closing, I want to thank you for taking the time to read my first official blog post on my brand new official website. I hope I didn't bore you and you will come back to read and learn more in the coming days. Have a Fantastic Friday tomorrow everyone!
