I am a writer and communicator. Because this is something I do every day, I know how to do it and I try and be the most effective communicator I can. Words are powerful and you can completely change the meaning of something by just changing one word. Here's an example. When people say "It's HUMP Day", this is an image that may pop into your head
"Oh, bummer, its going to rain this weekend and ruin our plans",
I say "Jesus is MY meteorologist and HE never lets me down. It is going to be PERFECT weather for our day." If you don't believe me, you can ask my family and friends. They will vouch for me! I have said this verbatim to them SEVERAL times.
The following picture is one I took on the last day of a Girlfriend Getaway with my High School BFF. We had just spent 2 fabulous days in Ventura and Santa Barbara. The weather report said "Rain, Clouds ALL day" for the next day (our last). She started to talk about it like it already happened and was getting sad that it was going to literally "rain on OUR parade". I responded with these exact words:
"Lisa, don't worry. JESUS is my meteorologist and he always gives me perfect weather. If we want to see a rainbow, we have to have a little rain. It won't rain very long, probably just a few minutes in order to make it even better!"
The next day as we were driving back to Thousand Oaks, it was cloudy and just a little bit drizzly. I actually prefer this type of weather when I am driving. Its easier for me to see when it isn't so bright out. I actually said this to Lisa and told her to quit talking about the bad weather. Right after I said that, this is what appeared on the road in front of us
You are all Superheroes out in the world and workplace. Instead of walking into your office and declaring it Hump Day, why not walk in and say "Happy Worship Wednesday"!!!!! You can tell them (when they look at you a little crazy like) that you are on a mission from The Joyful Journeyist. Spreading JOY in this dreary, rainy world may seem like an Impossible Mission, but with all us Superheroes banding together there is no such thing as Mission Impossible!
I would LOVE it if you let me know how your mission ended today. Was it a success or a failure to launch? Leave me a comment below and feel free to use your newly appointed Superhero name (you must create this yourself). I can't help you do your job better if you don't talk to me!
