1. I like to work SMARTER, not harder.
2. Contrary to popular belief, Work CAN (and SHOULD) be FUN!
That's pretty much it! No long list of rules like:
-you must do it 3 times a week for a minimum of 30 minutes
-you must ensure your heart rate stays within a certain number for X amount of minutes
-you must wear proper shoes that cost $$$$$$$$$
-you should also wear proper clothing that costs $$$$$$$$$
-you need to get in your car and drive to the INDOOR facility to complete your WORK out
You see, I was in the military for 20 years and had to follow rules to the T. Standards and guidelines at work that included fitness and weight standards. The tool used to measure your "success" at following these fitness standards was pretty black and white. It also was NOT an accurate depiction of your fitness level. While I considered myself to be in decent shape in those years, I am not a runner. For reasons unknown to me, I cannot run without getting severe side aches followed by puking. Pain and throwing up just don't seem like HEALTHY side effects of getting in shape. Our fitness level was determined each year by how fast you ran a specified number of miles. I can't run down the street let alone a mile. Needless to say, I was not deemed "Acceptable" in the fitness category. Never mind that I could walk for DAYS, lift heavy objects without breaking a sweat, work 16 hour days on 4 hours of sleep (routinely) and have energy leftover. Because I could not pass a running test, I was NOT FIT! I don't like being judged. PERIOD. Let alone being judged by 1 persons standard. We are all different with different bodies, so how is it that 1 test can determine EVERYONES fitness level????? Am I the only one that thinks this is crazy?? Before I get off on a rant (yeah, that was just me warming up), let me stick to trying to keep this post short and to the point, kind of like what a work out should be! By the way, did you get the whole work out theme going with my "warming up" rant???
.............Insert Smiley Face here...................
Since I'm a visual learner, I'm going to go into picture mode to give you some examples of how you can get a great work out, without actually working out! I know, I'm kind of blowing my own mind right now. Here we go:

GOD's GYM is free and available to ALL! Even though JESUS is my boss, he did not pay me to promote his fathers fitness center. The opinions expressed here are ALWAYS my own and not influenced by whether I am sponsored or not. Whether I work as a volunteer or a paid employee, I will always give an honest days work :-)
