So as we approach the new year, I am going to be taking my blog in a new direction. I will still be writing on travel, but more often than not, I will write about my thoughts on life. I want this blog and website to be a sort of a diary for my kids and Grandkids. I want to be able to teach them things in life that they won't learn in their classrooms, churches, TV's, iPads, etc. I want them to know what I FEEL, how I THINK and to see me for who I am. I view the planet as my home and therefore consider ALL OF YOU reading this, my family. Some people say "Home Sweet Home". I say "World Sweet World". I actually feel more at home in a foreign place surrounded by complete strangers than I do in the "comfort" of my own home. I have no secrets. I am going to be pouring my heart out in hopes of changing the perspective of this world. On a day filled with darkness and clouds, most people would agree with the meteorologists and call it a "Mostly Cloudy Day". They would focus on the dark clouds and grey sky in front of them and miss out on the beautiful blue sky behind it. I always call these days "Partly Sunny" versus "Mostly Cloudy". There is always sunshine to be found in every day and every situation. I want to inspire people to go past what is right in front of them. Don't just believe what the media is feeding you. THINK for yourself and look OUTSIDE of the box.
"Don't be concerned over getting wet in the rain showers of life. Believe in the good that they bring if you are willing to see beyond the storm."
I would much rather play FULL and HARD in the game of life. Getting dirty and knocked down in the mud by my opponents is just part of the game. I don't want to just sit on the sidelines and watch my teammates go through it without being right beside them, giving them my encouragement when the game gets ugly. We are all on the same team here on Earth. I just appointed myself Head Cheerleader and occasional Quarterback, Pinch Hitter, etc. (pick a sport and a player that works for you). The name of this game is Joyful Journeys and it's not a board game you have to sit at a table to play. It's just our LIFE. So, what do you say? On this last Friday of the year, do you wanna keep playing by the old rules or do you wanna be on my team? All it takes is a simple adjustment to your way of seeing things. If you don't like the view from your playing field, come on over to mine!

(for those that don't know me or understand my sense of humor, feel free to pretend this is an SNL skit. I am the coach #JoyfulJourneyist and also the cheerleader AND star player of the team. I am not afraid to get loud, get dirty, get goofy or wordy to win the game for my team--all of us.)
